THAI TRIP 2012
Accomodations
Baan Thai Residence

For those who choose the Pichest program, you will stay here for the entire three weeks.
Baan Thai is composed of simple, clean, air conditioned studio apartments with balconies in the Nimmanhaemin section of Chiang Mai. Nimmanhaemin is the contemporary heart of Chiang Mai, which we sometimes like to call the Lincoln Park, or the SOHO of Chiang Mai. Northweast of the Old City, Baan Thai is close to Chiang Mai University, and chock full of eateries, surprising boutiques, small art galleries and coffee shops (Thai people love coffee.) It’s close to the hills that surround the city, and just a short shared taxi ride away from the Old City.
The apartment building has one of the largest private swimming pools in the city, great for swimming laps or just sunning poolside. For a low cost you can have wi-fi in your room and maid service. Rooms are spacious, clean and full of light. All rooms have a private balcony. Baan Thai is a well-organized place that still feels like home…and you’ll quickly get to know Jia and Bee, the ladies at the front desk! Living in Baan Thai really feels like living in Chiang Mai…not just being a tourist for a few weeks, and this is why we’ve chosen it for our stay.
ST Apartments

Students studying with Homprang will spend the first two weeks of their time living on the grounds of Baan Hom. They will then
move to S.T. Apartments for the last week, getting a taste of quite a different flavor of life in this small but exciting Northern Thai city.
S.T Apartments is a small, very charming apartment complex with a handful of well-designed, colorful and spacious rooms, just down the road from Baan Thai. Like Baan Thai, it is located in the Nimmanhaeman District of Chiang Mai, in many ways the center of contemporary social life in the city. While the Old City is the main tourist destination – and we will still spend plenty of time there as well – the Nimmanhaamen District is where Thai people go out at night, or converge at a café for a meeting and a salad.
