THAI TRIP 2012

Trip Costs

There are two prices for this trip depending on whether you take choice number one and work with Pichest for the first two weeks, or you take choice number two and hang with Homprang.

  • Choice #1 – Pichest – $2575
  • Choice #2 – Homprang – $2975

The reason for the difference is because the cost for the teaching, lodging and food for Homprang is simply more expensive. Note that at Homprang’s place, the food is included. If you go with Pichest, you pay for your own food.

Tuition is due one month before the trip begins. $500 deposit holds your place. $150 of the deposit is a non-refundable registration fee.

What’s included

  • Educational training, transportation and lodging for all school related events.
  • We include the Chang Dao trip, visits with local healers like Mor Noi, translators when necessary, the cooking class and more.
  • All of this as well as the around the clock attention by Paul, Paul and Michelle where you will benefit from their extensive experience.

What’s not included

  • Transportation to and from Chiang Mai (i.e. your flight to Thailand, etc.)
  • Food (except for the first two weeks at Homprang’s and our farewell dinner).
  • Travel Insurance, which you are required to purchase before you go. I’ve seen it between $50 and $150.

Amount to budget

We believe that $500 will be about what you should budget for food, drink and extras. Extras might include laundry, internet, having a camera shop burn a disc for you, Thai massage treatments, and gifts.

We believe that the cost for this trip is very reasonable considering the amount of personal care you will receive from the three of us, the length of the trip, our experience in Thailand, and the highly specialized nature of the trip.

What the entire trip might cost you

Here is a rough estimate:

  • Tuition: $2975 (assuming Homprang or Pichest plus food for two weeks)
  • Airfare to Bangkok: $1200 (We’ve gotten flights from as little as $900 to as much as $1400)
  • General Budget: $500 (if you fly from Bangkok to Chiang Mai and back on the return, budget $200 more)
  • Travel Insurance: $100
  • Total cost incurred: $4775

Therefore, you can figure about $5000 to be on the safe side.

Ideas for fundraising

The most important thing is setting your intention -- imagining yourself receiving the gift that will allow you to experience this trip. Then, once you are clear, go for it. Talk it up, share your story, swallow your pride, ask for what you want. Do a fundraiser, apply for a grant, make it happen! We will do what we can to support you.
