About the Workshops

THAI ADVANCED THERAPEUTICS WITH CHRISTOPHER RAY

Massage & Beyond: Upper Body

This 2.5 day (16 hr) advanced workshop is intended for massage therapists who would like to explore the art of deep, therapeutic bodywork, with a special focus on neck, shoulder, chest, upper back, and arm work. Over the 10 years that Christopher has been specializing in treating chronic, deep physical and emotional pain and congestion, he has discovered numerous subtle, powerful techniques for coaxing muscles and energy to release. We are fortunate to have Christopher here to share his rich, unique, and detailed sense of body and energy mechanics, as well as his clear, heart-based approach to life. This class will help you sense a body and energy more deeply, will provide you with a therapeutic sequence for the upper body, and will enhance your existing practice in numerous ways.

Thai experience necessary

CLINICAL THAI MASSAGE WITH CHUCK DUFF
Using Thai Massage to Treat Pain and Dysfunction

Our friend and neighbor, Chuck Duff will join CSTM for this special Clinical Thai massage class.  Clinical Thai Bodywork: Using Thai Massage to Treat Pain and Dysfunction

This course covers the fundamentals of Clinical Thai Bodywork, a modality developed by Chuck Duff that blends the ancient tradition of Thai yoga massage with the insights of Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy, acupoint work and analysis of body function. CTB is highly effective in reducing or eliminating patterns of pain and restriction, often in cases that have failed conventional medical treatment. CTB gives the student specific tools to assess and design effective treatments for the most common client complaints.

In this course we will present the hallmarks of the CTB approach, including Myofascial Trigger Point theory and practice, identifying and treating troubled muscle areas, muscle energy techniques, and guidelines for designing and modifying a traditional Thai treatment. We will teach a sampling of techniques and treatment protocols for specific pain issues. Thai experience necessary

THAI FOR THE TABLE

This class is a boon for table practioners who are looking to incorporate Thai style stretching into their current routines.  Blending stretching and Thai compression is often challenging when using oil and draping.  CSTM graduate and anatomy teacher Tina Ntanos, LMT, will guide you through this fascinating connection of two modalities.  Massage experience necessary.

You must provide your own table and sheets.

If you like this class and decide to enroll in the following 6 month program,
we will take $150 off your tuition price.
