Thai Healing Alliance International (THAI)

Chicago School of Thai Massage is a proud Institutional member in good standing of the Thai Healing Alliance. The Thai Healing Alliance, aka THAI, is the only all-inclusive professional organization for Thai healing studies in the world. All styles and ideas about Thai healing studies are welcomed and given a forum.

We believe that an organization such as THAI is important, most of all, in building community and communication among professionals in the field of Thai healing studies and bodywork. It is a forum for conversation about the history of Nuad Boran as it meets with the future and as the reality of life in the west is balanced with eastern culture.  Because  there is no one answer or one approach that can contain these ideas, a fluid conversation, an open mind and an ability to listen is required. THAI has a vision that is expansionist and not contractive and for that, we support their mission.

You will automatically become a Basic Member of THAI after the second weekend of study. Basic membership requires 30 hours of training and you will have over 50 by the end of the second weekend. Membership in THAI will give you access to the archives on the THAI website which you will use to write your research paper after the third weekend.

Registered Thai Therapist (RTT)

THAI has standards that are recognized throughout the Thai bodywork profession signifying a well trained professional. We believe that the label, Registered Thai Therapist (RTT), which is received after 150+ hours of study, 50 logged sessions, and one year of practice, creates a standard of excellence that people can trust.

CSTM's program goes well beyond the 150 hours need to become RTT. It also takes a bite out of the 50 logged sessions by requiring 20 of them by graduation. That means, if a participant of CSTM continues doing Thai sessions after completion of the 6 month series, in about 6 months, they should have the 50 sessions and would be able to apply for RTT status from the Thai Healing Alliance.

National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB)

Chicago School of Thai Massage is a continuing education provider with NCBTMB. For those who are Licensed Massage Therapists (LMT), CSTM offers Continuing Education Credits (CE). Our workshop series, as well as our individual workshops, offer continuing education credits though NCBTMB.
